Medicare Changes Coming 2027
Medicare offerings change — in good and sometimes not so good ways — every year. Here’s what we know so far:
Medicare Part D (Rx plan)
The out-of-pocket maximum will increase from $2,100 in 2026 to $2,400 in 2027.
The deductible will increase from $615 In 2026 to $700 in 2027.
The Part D “Premium Stabilization Demonstration” ends at the end of 2026. This program reduced the base premium and capped the premiums year after year for any Part D plan. This means standalone drug plan premiums return to open-market pricing and are likely to increase.
15 more drugs will get Medicare-negotiated prices, which means their costs will decrease.
About Other Changes
For those on a Medicare Advantage Plan (Medicare Part C), check your mailbox or your online account (on your insurance company’s website or app) for the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), arriving by September 30th. Compare the changes in all categories with your current 2026 plan.
For Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan holders, your insurance company must inform you 30 to 60 days before a premium increase. Not all Medicare Supplement plans renew on January 1st.
Medicare Parts A and B premium changes are traditionally announced mid to late November.
