Movie Matinees for Seniors at Tigard Public Library

The library will screen classic musicals, Classic Hollywood Cinema, and American New Wave movies every first Thursday of the month. After the screening, stay for a discussion of the film.
March 2: Funny Face (1957): Stanley Donen’s ultrachic spin into the world of fashion photography. Starring: Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Kay Thompson, Robert Flemyng.
April 6: Sunset Boulevard (1950): Screen gem about a silent-film star who has faded into Hollywood obscurity and enlists a down-on-his-luck, opportunistic young screenwriter to aid her comeback, but her maniacal ego turns the challenge into an uphill battle. Starring: Gloria Swanson, William Holden, Erich von Stroheim, Nancy Olson, Fred Clark
May 4: Star Wars: A New Hope (1977): George Lucas’s Oscar-winning space fantasy about a young man who joins a rebel alliance working to overthrow an evil empire that’s taking over the galaxy. Starring: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, David Prowse.
