Community Voices: The Story of Angelette

The Story of an Angelette

I don’t like eating too much at a fancy banquet

Or smoking too much a stale and icky cigarette

And without a license I cannot drive a Corvette

Till then I’ll be an Angelette.

I can’t carry on conversation well with someone I’ve just met

I like staying home to listen to my favorite Jamaican sextet.

Or reading a good magazine at the local gazette

or even having lunch with friends at the luncheonette

Until then I’ll be an Angelette.

Sometimes I sit a bit too much and fret

Other times I begin thinking I’m a villanette, playing Russian roulette

Until then I’ll be an. Angelette

Then again, I’d like to be a baroness with a baronet

Maybe even join a dancette

But sometimes I think I’m still all wet

So, until then I’ll be an Angelette

Anyway, I might someday even have my own jet

Until then I guess I’ll be an Angelette.
