A State of Mind
Volleyball in the sand may bring thoughts of Frankie and Annette cavorting in a lightweight ‘60s flick. However, Chris Wells, director of the newly offered Oregon Senior Games event, maintains, “Beach volleyball is a very challenging physical sport, and even more challenging mentally,”
Wells played indoor volleyball in New Jersey, but a move to California opened up a whole new world of fun in the sun for him.
“While this may sound corny, I believe age is largely a state of mind,” he says. “Having athletic goals throughout your lifetime is a great way to challenge yourself, stay in shape, and have fun while you’re doing it.”
