Give a Little Bit: Neighbors helping Neighbors

For 22 years, Colise and her husband James of NE Portland have operated a home-based food bank focused on children and seniors. Colise lets neighbors know what high-quality foods will be offered on certain days, such as produce, meats or baked goods.

This time of year, wanting to ensure families can enjoy holiday dinners, Colise and James collect ingredients for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner kits. They will begin accepting donations Oct 15 for 22 Thanksgiving meals.

Items needed include: turkeys, bagged potatoes, gravy mix, rolls, margarine, canned vegetables and desserts. Donations may be dropped off at 2447 NE 86th Ave. To learn more, call 503-810-8907 (leave a message).
