Northwest dog found while finding its calling
How about some good news to brighten your day! They say every dog has a purpose. For Tilly, an Australian Shepherd in Idaho, finding her ancestral purpose led to her being found. Tilly was ejected from her family’s car after an accident in Northern Idaho. After wandering lost, she found a herd of sheep. Upon finding the sheep she started doing what her breed naturally does — herding! A few hours later one of the farmers discovered his flock had a new shepherd. The family that owned the farm had seen posts on social media about the missing dog, recognized and got her home. Tilly, who had never herded sheep before, was apparently exhausted from discovering her purpose and spent the next day sleeping on the couch. Spokane Spokesman review via Good News Network.

Finally, a fun fact for you. Just about the sugary-est treat you can buy at a summer fair is cotton candy, aka fairy floss. It is literally made from just sugar and flavoring. So, it’s a bit of irony that the treat was in fact invented by a dentist. William Morrison partnered with a confectioner to invent the creation, called it fairy floss, and debuted it at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. It gets even stranger when you learn that in 1921, another dentist, Josef Lascaux of Louisiana, further popularized the treat. In order to help make his product stand out from the original he dubbed his “cotton candy.” The name has stuck in America ever since. Why on earth would a dentist unleash this sugary creation upon the world? The reason has been lost to history. But I’m sure his modern-day counterparts are either cursing or praising him, depending on how much money they’ve made fixing cavities it has caused.
